The program aims are to provide specialized knowledge and skills on the use of new media. Training sessions will be organized in relation to the project activities: online magazine, social media management, blogging. However, participants will have an opportunity to be trained on computer programs skills through our volunteer network that will support them by organizing trainings, seminars and workshops. The volunteers will also be supported by experienced staff and will have access to training manuals created by the organization.

The volunteer will be involved in the activities of the organisation, including the organization and operation of web radio, creation of contents and advertisement of e-magazine, organization and web-TV operation. In order for this to be achieved there is the opportunity to develop a project of their interest with the support of the organization. Finally, the volunteer will be given the option to participate in other voluntary activities, such as the International Documentary Festival of Thessaloniki and Film Festival, through which they can develop more skills according to their interests.

The requirements for this EVS position are:

  • 18-30 years old;
  • good knowledge of English;
  • good interpersonal skills and proactive approach to life.

The recruitment of the participants is based on the motivation of the volunteer. There are no prerequisites such as prior knowledge of programmes or media, as we will provide educational seminars around these topics. Although, good knowledge of English for the safety of the volunteers is the only important factor, it should not be an obstacle if there is a very strong interest to join the project.

The travel costs will be reimbursed up to a certain amount allocated by the European Commission; accommodation, food and tickets for the local transports are provided by the host organization. The volunteer will also receive pocket money monthly.
