The volunteer will mainly support the staff in the resident for people with psychological and mental problems in doing his daily activities. Special needs of these residents will be supported by helping with cleaning and tiding up, cooking, shopping, companionship to medical services (doctors, physiotherapy, etc.) and companionship or taking care during excursions, walks, etc.; creating and preparing leisure time or intercultural activities (for example readings, informational events about the countries of origin, traditional events like dances, celebrations, movie evenings, cooking workshops, summer party); planning and the realization of special events which are linked to particular topics and festivals; personal help or companionship of the residents in case of questions concerning their relatives; promotion of the EVS (making videos, useful tipps for future volunteers, flyers, participating in events to present him-/herself as a European volunteer to local community) and documenting his/her own project. Language course and first aid course will be provided by the hosting institution.
The 90% of travel expenses will be reimbursed; accommodation and meals are provided by the host organization, volunteers will also receive pocket money monthly.
Candidates applying for this position should meet following requirements:
– be avaliable for the whole duration of the volunteering period and pre-departure training;
– have vitality/joy in life while working with people who suffer from mental diseases;
– open minded and communicative, creative personality able to work in team;
– flexibility and good knowledge of English language.
