During this voluntary project the volunteer will have to take part in lessons, creating lesson plans and leading group discussions. Other task will be to promote EVS so they will present the prepared presentation about organization to pupils in schools or in another organizations. The volunteer will participate in charity action and during the project they will travel with the hosting organization if it is necessary. By assisting in everyday life in the Center and getting first aid training, they will have the opportunity to learn about methods how to help disabled people and how to work with them (create his/her own workshop with disabled people). Each EVS volunteer will get their own Polish mentor, whose task will be to introduce a volunteer to the Polish reality, culture and social life and they will be also offered the possibility of intensive Polish language learning in exchange for his/her native language.
All kinds of personal ideas and individual projects are welcome.
The travel costs will be reimbursed up to a certain amount allocated by the European Commission; accommodation and meals are provided by the host organization, volunteers will also receive pocket money monthly.
Candidates applying for this position should meet following requirements:
– be available for the whole duration of the volunteering period and pre-departure training;
– interest in the work with disabled people;
– open minded, communicative, able to work in team;
– flexibility, good knowledge of English.
