Initiative et Developpement Citoyen is a non-profite company based in a small village in the south of France. Its main activities include an ecologic campsite, open to tourists from June to September, environmental education activities, organic gardening, international youth mobility activities such as youth exchanges and European Voluntary Service, workcamps, green building, events for local community and much more. It is lying in a very rural area with little connections to closest city (Carcassonne), 18km away from the campsite.

IDC is looking for a volunteer in the field of nature and environmental protection.

He will take care of the animals (donkeys, chickens, cats, dogs), make organic gardening with seasonal vegetables, water plants and trees.

He also will take part in ecologic building workshops, awareness-raising activities about nature preservation.

Among the activities in the campsite there are the water and electricity consumption checks, composting waste and rainwater collection.

In each position the volunteer is working together with the responsible person for the chosen field. Common tasks such as toilet and shower cleaning, cooking, washing dishes and shopping are shared on a rota system amongst all volunteers. Here you can check the Blog of the campsite to get some ideas of what past volunteers has been doing.
