Project description:
Volunteer Initiative Nepal (VIN) is a non-profit organization. Since 2005, VIN is running programs with a specific focus on women and children welfare. Their mission is to encourage the marginalized communities by improving education, health, income generation and basic infrastructure programs. Therefore, they conduct training and research through the mobilization of local and international volunteers, in order to promote equality, economic well being and basic human rights.
Fun with kids project’s main goal is to provide to local community kids the opportunity to learn basics education through fun activities.
During the work camp, the volunteer will have to work for the community development education, with the cooperation of local community schools. He will also cooperate with local leaders and children in order to strengthen the community development of education projects. Finally, he will have to promote the importance of health, hygiene and environmental projection through creative learning methods like arts music games.
As part of the cultural exchange volunteers will witness and participate in the available cultural programs with local community.
Practical information:
Accommodation: shared simple beds room (with 3 to 5 people) in the hosting family house.
Placement process: VIN local staff will drive each volunteer from the airport to the local host family.
The first days, the volunteers will follow some orientation sessions, covering cultural and health tips, survival phase on Nepali language ans project activities preparation about VIN. The actual Work camp will begin on the third day.
Participation fee: 230€ (+20€ for transportation) paid on arrival at VIN office, PayPal or bank transfer.

Meeting point: Airport: Tribhuvan international airport, Kathmandu
The volunteer have to send their flight detail to VIN, so that the association would be able to send a staff member with his identity cards and VIN logo. In case the volunteer would like to arrive earlier and explore the country, he may find per-paid taxi at the airport.
Leisure activities: either before or after the work camp, the volunteer can go for a short tour of one of Nepal’s nearby attraction (organized by VIN).
